Manjrekar also recently talked about how Virat Kohli loves to be on the field, just like Sachin Tendulkar used to do during his playing days. Speaking on sports journalist Vimal Kumar's YouTube channel, Manjrekar said, "One similarity between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar is that they both love to play cricket. They want to be on the field. They are in the team for the match against Bangladesh. Was not a part of the team, but was still on the field. I don't think Virat Kohli wants power or leadership.
Speaking further, he said, “He just wants to play and he seems to enjoy being part of the team. He captained the team for a very long time, so there is no scope for unfulfilled dreams. Being with the team, traveling with the players, going on the field and being a part of winning moments is more important to him than strength."
Concluding his talk, Manjerkar also talked about Sachin's 51 Test centuries and said that it would be difficult for Virat to reach here. He said, "Sachin Tendulkar has 51 centuries, 17 more than Sunil Gavaskar. For a good player, it is comparatively easy to score runs in ODIs, because bowlers do not always try to take wickets. Tendulkar And Kohli is special because he also has a lot of Test centuries. However, I believe it will be very difficult for Kohli to reach 51 Test centuries." It is noteworthy that Kohli has 29 Test centuries in his name. However, he is only two centuries short of Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI centuries.
