Similarly, the festival of Lalita Saptami is considered a very important day of Bhadrapada month. Lalita Saptami is celebrated every year on the Saptami Tithi of Shuklapaksha of Bhadrapada month. It is celebrated with great pomp in Braj Mandal.
Lalita Saptami is also called Santan Saptami. On this day, people worship Goddess Lilata with full rituals to get her blessings. It is said that by worshiping Goddess Lalita one also gets the blessings of Lord Shri Krishna. This day is very special for Lord Shri Krishna. When will Lalita Saptami be celebrated?
Like every year, this year too Lalita Saptami will be celebrated on the Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year Saptami Tithi will start at 02:14 pm on 21st September 2023 and will end at 01:35 pm on 22nd September. According to Udaya Tithi, the fast of Lalita Saptami will be observed on 22nd September.
Auspicious time of Lalita Saptami
On this day Brahma Muhurta will start at 04:35 AM and will end at 05:22 AM. On this day, Abhijeet Muhurta will start at 11:49 am and end at 12:38 pm. On this day, Twilight Muhurta will start at 06:18 PM and will end at 06:42 PM. On this day, Amrit Kaal will start at 06:47 am and will end at 08:23 am.
Rules of worship
On this day, wake up early in the morning and take bath.
Then clean the place of worship and sit for worship and first of all meditate on Lord Shri Ganesha.
After that worship Lord Shri Ganesha, Lord Shri Krishna, Goddess Lalita, Mata Parvati, Lord Shaligram.
Offer coconut, rice, turmeric, sandalwood paste, gulal, flowers and milk as prasad during the puja.
Then take a copper vessel and offer water from it.
Offer red thread or Mauli in the puja and tie it on the wrist of your right hand after the puja.
To observe this fast, you can keep fast from sunrise on 22nd September till sunrise the next day.
Mythology of Lalita Saptami
According to mythology, Lord Krishna had eight friends and their names were Shri Radha, Shri Lalita, Shri Vishakha, Shri Chitra, Shri Indulekha, Shri Champaklata, Shri Rang Devi, Shri Sudevi and Shri Tungavidya. It is believed that Nandlal loved Shri Radha ji and Lalita ji the most among all these friends. The fast of Lalita Saptami is also dedicated to Shri Krishna's beloved friend Lalita ji. It is believed that by worshiping Shri Lalita ji along with Shri Krishna and Radha Rani on this day, the devotee becomes dear to Shri Krishna. We all know that Lord Shri Krishna, the creator of the universe, fills the bag of all the happiness of the world with whomever he considers dear. It is also said in the scriptures that by worshiping on Lalita Saptami, a person also gets a child.
