Name decided, committee formed… then why was there a 'brake' on the planning of INDIA alliance?

Before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024, opposition parties have formed INDIA alliance. Apart from the formation of some committees including the coordination committee after the meetings in Patna, Bengaluru and Mumbai, the opposition alliance has not been able to announce any major program yet.

As of today, the condition of INDIA alliance looks like two and a half miles in 9 days. After the marathon meetings of the opposition alliance in Patna, Bangalore and Mumbai, till now only some committees including INDIA name and coordination committee have been formed, the rest of the alliance has not been able to reach the ground till now. After the Mumbai meeting of INDIA alliance, it was decided that all the committees including coordination committee, publicity committee will hold meetings and make strategies and on the ground, INDIA alliance will be seen fighting with the Modi government.

But on the contrary, after the coordination committee meeting held at Sharad Pawar's house in Delhi on September 13, everything has come to a standstill, even whatever was decided and announced has not been implemented on the political ground. In fact, the remaining parties are seeking seats to expand their party outside their state and put pressure on the Congress. Even though everyone talks about having a big heart, everyone wants to expand their land instead of leaving it.

Congress is hoping for better results in the elections of 5 states, so that after that it can decide on seat sharing and other issues in alliance with the influential people. Therefore, whether the INDIA alliance will be strong or weak in future, whether Congress will be a strong part of it or will remain a part of the alliance, all these will be decided only by the election results of 5 states, this is what is being seen at the moment.

Those things of INDIA alliance which are still stuck -:

In the first week of October, a rally of INDIA alliance was announced in Bhopal, then due to the stuckness of seat distribution in the assembly elections, a rally was announced in a non-poll state, but till now there is no official information about it.

There was talk of setting up a secretariat for the INDIA alliance in Delhi, the responsibility of which was given to the Congress, but till now it is in cold storage, although according to the information, at present the coordination work is being done from the house of the Congress President.

CPM's Politburo was to decide its representative in the coordination committee, but it refused to give the representative. The reason for this is believed to be his political enmity with TMC in Bengal.

TMC has given the name of Abhishek Banerjee for the coordination committee, but has not yet given names for the other committees. The reason for this is believed to be the rhetoric of Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary and the Left in Bengal.

It was decided to hold meetings of all the committees including the coordination committee and publicity committee every fortnight, but after one meeting was held till September 13, it is not decided when the next meeting will be held. Also, where the next meeting of INDIA alliance will be held after Mumbai is also not decided yet.

It was decided that after the Mumbai meeting, discussion on state-wise seat distribution would begin and it would be finalized in October, but according to sources, this work did not start in states like Bengal, Delhi, Punjab and even where it happened, Moving at the speed of a turtle.

It was decided in Patna that soon the name of a coordinator of the alliance and, if necessary, the chairperson would also be decided. The leaders of INDIA alliance informally discussed the name of Kharge for the chairperson and Nitish Kumar for the coordinator, but no official discussion could take place due to this, lest anyone get angry.

Apart from all this, the recent arrest of Congress Kisan Cell President Sukhpal Khaira in Punjab has also created a rift in the INDIA alliance. AAP is calling it an action against drugs, the attacking Punjab Congress is calling it a vindictive step taken by AAP. In response, Congress's Delhi in-charge Deepak Bawaria hit back by justifying the CBI investigation into Kejriwal's bungalow.
