Nipah Virus: Nipah virus enters the brain directly, many times more dangerous than Covid.

Nipah Virus Cases:
Nipah virus cases are increasing rapidly in Kerala. Deaths are also occurring due to this virus. Nipah virus is more dangerous than Corona. After entering the body, it directly affects the brain. Due to which the patient dies.

Nipah virus has once again struck in Kerala. More than 5 cases have been registered in the state so far. Two patients have also lost their lives. In view of the increasing threat of the virus, many restrictions are being imposed in Kerala. It is a matter of concern that the person found infected has come in contact with about 700 people. In such a situation, there is a possibility of Nipah cases increasing rapidly in the entire state. This time the strain of Nipah virus found in Kerala is quite dangerous. Due to this the death rate is higher. It spreads rapidly from one person to another. Nipah virus directly affects the brain. This causes swelling in the brain, which later causes death. Children are also getting infected by Nipah in Kerala. In view of this, the states surrounding Kerala are also on alert.

According to doctors, Nipah cases have been reported in India before, but this time the strain is quite dangerous. Even though the infection rate of Nipah virus is low, it becomes very difficult to save the life of the infected person. If the virus affects the brain, the patient's condition worsens. In many cases, a person infected with Nipah requires ventilator support. Initially the symptoms are mild, but within three to four days the effects of the virus become visible and it takes the patient to the hospital. People with weak immunity and patients suffering from chronic diseases are more at risk of Nipah.

Infection by bats and pigs

Dr. Deepak Kumar at Safdarjung Hospital says that Nipah virus is spread by infected bats and pigs. This virus spreads to humans by coming in contact with them. After this it starts spreading from one person to another. This virus is transmitted from one person to another through droplets released from the body during cough and sneeze.

If a bat or pig infected with the virus eats a fruit or vegetable and that fruit is later eaten by an animal or human being, then the virus also spreads to humans. Nipah virus is also tested through histopathology and RT-PCR.

More dangerous than Covid

Nipah virus is more dangerous than Corona. The death rate due to this is higher than Covid. Corona used to affect the lungs of the patient, but Nipah virus damages the brain. Since many parts of the body function through the brain, if there is an infection in the brain, it becomes difficult to save the patient's life.
