Now food items will become cheaper, retail inflation will also decline, RBI indicated

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the prices of tomatoes have come down significantly. In such a situation, the prices of other vegetables will also start falling gradually. Das said that the central government has taken several steps to make available essential commodities like tomatoes and onions at affordable rates.

There is relief news for the general public who have been facing the brunt of inflation for the last two months. In this month i.e. September, food items will become cheaper. With this, the spoiled kitchen budget of the general public can once again get back on track. Especially after tomato, now the prices of onion and green vegetables are expected to fall. This will reduce the retail inflation rate.

Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has predicted a decline in inflation. He said that the retail inflation rate will start declining from September. Especially tomatoes and other vegetables will become cheaper. If they are to be believed, the central government's ban on export of non-Basmati rice and reduction in the price of LPG cylinder by Rs 200 may have an impact on inflation. Due to this, food items may become cheaper in the month of September.

Inflation will start declining from September

Actually, Governor Shaktikanta Das has made this prediction regarding inflation while talking to students in a program organized at Devi Ahilya University, Indore. During this, he also mentioned the steps taken by the Central Government to control inflation. He said that we hope that retail inflation will start declining from September. However, during this time he also said that the retail inflation rate for the month of August will be very high. In such a situation, we hope that inflation will start declining from September.

Retail inflation rises to 15-month high

Let us tell you that as soon as the month of July started, inflation in the country reached the seventh sky. Tomato which was available at Rs 30 to 40 per kg has become available at Rs 300 to Rs 350 per kg. This is the reason why retail inflation increased to the highest level of 15 months at 7.44 percent in July. Despite this, India has become the fastest growing major economy in the world.

The trend of digital payment is increasing in the country

While talking to the students, Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the trend of digital payments is increasing very fast in the country. In August, the number of transactions through UPI in the country crossed 10 billion. The RBI Governor said that now efforts are being made to promote payments through feature phones in the country, so that people in remote areas can also avail this facility. According to him, crores of people in the country still do not have smartphones. At the same time, there is also a problem of mobile network in many places. In such a situation, making payment through feature phone would be a good option.
