Now only youth with these degrees will be able to become DTO in Transport Department, new rule will be implemented in the state from January 1

Now, engineering degree has been made mandatory to become a DTO in the state transport department. Now youth who have obtained the degree of Mechanical Engineer can apply for this post. The new rule will be implemented in the state from next year.

There has been a change in the qualification to become District Transport Officer in Bihar Transport Department. The new rule will be implemented in the state from January 1, 2024. This decision has been taken after the recommendation of the Road Safety Committee of the Supreme Court. The committee has recommended this to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Now only youth with Mechanical Engineer degree can apply for DTO posts in State Transport Department.

The ministry has issued its notification. Now soon it will be implemented in the state. Under the new rule, the employees currently posted on the post of District Transport Officer will be sent to their parent department. The time given in the notification is till January 1, 2024. According to the report of Dainik Bhaskar, Muzaffarpur DTO Sushil Kumar said that the ministry has issued the notification after the recommendation of the Road Safety Committee of the Supreme Court.

What will be the benefit?

According to the issued notification, if there are technical staff on the post of DTO, then road accidents will reduce. Also, if they do good investigation in case of road accidents, they will also suggest best solutions to prevent such incidents from happening again. DITOs will get many other benefits by having technical knowledge. The fitness of the vehicles will also be changed in a good way. All aspects of technology will be given better attention. Also, the Motor Vehicles Act will be implemented in a better manner.

State government sent suggestion

The Transport Ministry had sought suggestions from the state government on this, on which the suggestions have been sent by the state government on August 4. After which notification has been issued. The post of MVI in the transport department is already technical and now there will be many benefits if DTO also becomes technical.
