The Telecom Department has come up with many new rules regarding SIM cards in India, which is going to make the way people buy and activate SIM cards more stringent. New rules have been added by the Telecom Department for the sale and use of SIM cards in India and some more changes have been made in the old rules. The new rules made to prevent the sale of SIM cards in a fraudulent manner will come into effect from October 1. Telecom companies have to register all their sales centers (POS) before 30 September.
After the new rules are implemented, the shops selling SIM cards will have to be careful. If there is any mistake from the side of the shop, then a fine of Rs 10 lakh will have to be paid on it. Check out the complete details of the new neons here and know what else has been changed.

According to the new rule, big telecom companies will have to thoroughly investigate the shops selling their SIM cards. They have to confirm that the shops follow all the rules. This will keep things safe and secure.
Apart from this, the Telecom Department has said that in some areas like Assam, Kashmir and North East, the telecom operator will have to start police verification of all the shops first. Only after verification, they can give them permission to sell new SIM cards.
If the SIM is lost or damaged
You will also have to face police verification to get replacement in case of loss or damage of the SIM card. This process will be the same as when you get a new SIM card.
The reason behind bringing new rules is to make the SIM card even more safe and secure. This decision is a necessary step for the security of the country and the country.
