One Nation One Election : Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti has supported 'One Nation One Election'. He has said that it is expected that the entire country will also be in its favor because there will be a reduction in expenditure and there will be no hindrance in development. He has suggested that local body and panchayat elections should also be conducted one month after the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
What is 'One Nation One Election'
'One Nation One Election' means that elections to the Lok Sabha and state assemblies should be held simultaneously in the entire country. At present, Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections are held at different times in each state. A committee has been constituted on 1 September 2023 for One Nation One Election, headed by former President Ramnath Kovind. This committee will examine the possibilities of holding simultaneous elections across the country. NITI Aayog has also supported the idea of 'one country one election'. With this, the Central Government has called a special session of Parliament from 18 to 22 September and it is possible that it can also be introduced along with some more important bills. Many BJP leaders along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi have from time to time supported One Nation One Election.

Now senior BJP leader Uma Bharti has also cast her vote in favor of it. In a tweet, he said that the whole country will support One Nation One Election because it will provide comfort to the people, reduce expenses, and there will be no hindrance in the pace of development. I also propose that after one month of the results of these elections along with the Lok Sabha, the elections for the local bodies and panchayat system should also be held. Should be allowed to run uninterrupted. For this, the committee formed under the chairmanship of Honorable Ramnath Kovind ji, I will send these suggestions to them as well.
