In an interview, Anurag Kashyap talked about his films flopping and not making films with stars like Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. He revealed why he does not work with these stars.

Anurag believes that too much experimentation cannot be done with any big name. He attributed this to the huge fan following of the hero in India. Anurag said, 'Although I came into the industry to make films, there came a time when I started running after big stars.'

'Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan are worshiped by their fans like God. While working with a star, if you do not meet the expectations of his fan base, then he rejects you. This has happened with Kabir Khan, director of Salman Khan's film Tubelight. Due to the flop of the film, Salman Khan's fans went after him.

Anurag Kashyap said that 'I make films for myself and not for anyone's friends or followers. In India, fans worship big stars whereas in other countries there is no such culture. There you have freedom to do more creative work.

Talking about OTT films and series, Anurag Kashyap said, 'OTT has opened doors for rising stars. This has meant that good actors are getting better roles and better payment. Now Pankaj Tripathi or Nawazuddin Siddiqui can also be a lead actor in a film.
