The first question that bothers people while buying an electric vehicle or car is the question of charging infrastructure in the country. People fear that if they go on a long drive with an EV and the charge runs out on the way, what will they do? Tata Motors has done the work of eliminating this problem of charging in its new 'Tata Nexon.EV'.
Yes, Tata Motors has now provided the facility to charge from one car to another in the latest version of its most popular electric car Nexon EV. Anand Kulkarni, Chief Product Officer of Tata's Electric Cars Division, has given detailed information about this.
Any electric car will be charged by Nexon
Giving information about the new feature of Nexon, Anand Kulkarni said that from now on Nexon.EV customers will get the facility to charge from one Nexon to another. Besides, other electric cars present in the market can also be charged with the help of these features.
This service will work in two different ways. If customers charge one Nexon from another Nexon, then they will get the facility to charge the electric vehicle at the charging speed of 5 KVA. Apart from Nexon, if any other electric car is charged from the car itself, then charging will happen at the speed of 3.5 KVA.
User will have full control over power sharing
Another special thing about this feature of Nexon is that how much charge of his car a customer wants to give to another car. He can decide its limit himself. That means the user can set a limit on how much charging he wants to save for his car and how much charge he wants to give to another car.
Anand Kulkarni said that with this, users owning electric vehicles in the country will be able to form groups and build communities, so that they can help each other in times of need. Apart from this, regarding after sales service, he said that for now the company will use only its existing network for EV, but in the coming time it can be developed as a separate unit.
The starting price of Tata's new Nexon.EV is Rs 14.74 lakh, which goes up to Rs 19.94 lakh.
