hot-tempered discussions
Moulay Ismail was born in the ancient city of Sijilmasa in Morocco around 1645. Moulay came to power in Morocco at a time when the empire had weakened. The tribes were struggling with internal war. The situation was bad. But with his wisdom and strategy the king managed everything.
Started recruitment of soldiers. Dependence on tribes was reduced. Started recruiting such slaves from the desert areas who were always ready to risk their lives for the king. In this way the king raised an army of more than 1.5 lakh soldiers and emerged as a powerful king.
Maulay's brutality was such that he was also called a blood-thirsty Sultan. The king had beheaded 400 rebels in Faiz city of Morocco. The emperor started his rule with the end of the rebels. Not only this, to spread this message far and wide to other countries, the heads were hung on a line on the wall.
Moulay adopted such a strategy that diplomatic relations with countries like Great Britain, Spain and France became stronger with Morocco. Along with this, another thing was also discussed in the world. That was Maulay's love interest.
4 wives, 1171 children and more than 500 concubines
The story of increase in the number of Moyal's maids is interesting. It is said that he had four wives. There were more than 500 concubines or slaves. He was so cruel that whenever he captured any empire, he used to hand over his daughters to King Moyal. In this way the number of women in his harem increased rapidly.
French ambassador Dominique Bussnot, who traveled to Morocco, wrote in his report that by the year 1704, the king had 1171 children. At that time the king was 57 years old and had been ruling Morocco for 32 years. Badshah's name has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the father of the most children. It has been said in the Guinness Book of World Records that evidence has been found that Maulay had 888 children.
Someone saw the begums and concubines and took their lives.
The king was strict about his wives and concubines to such an extent that if anyone saw them, he would have to risk his life. The king would directly behead him. It is said that the state of fear was such that men would go out lying on the ground on their stomachs in front of the queen and the concubines, so that they would not have to bear the torture of the king.
