Kuppahalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan Death Anniversary: Kuppahalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan had the ability to question himself and his own people. Only after obtaining BE degree from Sagar University in the year 1954, he joined the Sangh and remained engaged in the service of the country and society throughout his life. He would often come into controversies regarding his statements.

Kuppahalli Seetharamaiah Sudarshan alias KS Sudarshan alias Ku. C. Sudarshan. These names belong to the same person. His death anniversary is on 15th September. If he had been alive, he would have been 92 years old. A simple personality, adept at making friends with anyone, outspoken, an advocate of the unity and integrity of the country, an engineer by profession, a sharer of the joys and sorrows of even the smallest of his associates.

A similar introduction can be given to the fifth Sarsangh Chalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Sudarshan had the ability to question himself and his own people. He was a complete Sudarshan at heart. Only after obtaining BE degree from Sagar University in the year 1954, he joined the Sangh and remained engaged in the service of the country and society throughout his life. He would often come into controversies regarding his statements.

Gave suggestion to Atal-Advani

As Sangh chief, he was in favor of youth participation in politics. He had even suggested to Atal-Advani that they should now give command to the youth. This was considered a suggestion that would bring major change. His comments on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi created an uproar across the country but he still remained undeterred. He was the one who said that Hindus should have at least three children so that they can protect the Hindu religion, culture and society. But when Sudarshan, who made such statements, was the head of the Sangh, the Rashtriya Muslim Manch was established at the Sangh headquarters in Nagpur and the movement of development-minded Muslims from all over the country also increased.

He also started talking to the Christian community. He created the concept of Swadeshi Church and sometimes, whenever there was time, he also made arrangements for Namaz at the Sangh headquarters for the Muslim visitors.

Nehru-Mountbatten held responsible for Kashmir

His comment about Jinnah was also felt far when he said that Jinnah, like Tilak, was in favor of United India. He held Nehru and Lord Mountbatten responsible for the Kashmir problem. Senior Sangh official Suresh Soni, who was a close associate of Sudarshan, once said in an interview that he was an engineer. Science and technology were mixed in him but it was surprising when he talked about religion, culture, rural development, organic farming.

He says that when he reached a branch late, he did not say anything at that time, but when the closure of the branch was announced, he said in private that only if you remain disciplined will you have friends. His simplicity, rules of discipline and ascetic life will always teach us.

He says that his notes are like an inheritance. Before talking on any topic, he would study it thoroughly and also make notes about it. He expressed his views very boldly and frankly.

His father belonged to South India but he came to Madhya Pradesh for a job in the Forest Department. He was born here in Raipur and he breathed his last in the same Raipur at the age of 81. In the Sangh, he continued to discharge various responsibilities in Madhya Pradesh for a long time. Later he got bigger responsibilities and reached the head of the Sangh. Then he gave the country a stir. Traveling across the country was his capital.

I don't like mixing of language.

He was a strong supporter of the indigenous language. He did not like adulteration in language at all. Even by mistake, English could not find a place in his Hindi, but very few people would know that he spoke English fluently. He had knowledge of about 12 languages. They used to tell the truth without hesitation, believing that someone or the other would feel bad. He believed that the truth should come out at any cost.

In Samidha office, the mother of their cook youth was ill. When he got the information, he went to meet a remote village located in Raisen district. Brought him to Bhopal. Admitted to hospital. Go to see every day. After being discharged, arrangements were made for his stay and food in Bhopal for a week. A small child coming to the branch in Bhopal gave his sister's wedding card. His father was a watchman. Sudarshan reached his house late at night. All the family members were stunned. Both the parties were sitting in a room. The room was in disarray. Sudarshan himself took hold of the broom. Then within a moment the whole room got arranged. Then he garlanded the bride and groom. Gave gifts, blessings and returned.

It is the year 1964. Sudarshan was engaged in the service of the Sangh in Madhya Pradesh. The then Sangh chief Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar had come for the worker meeting. In this meeting he introduced two persons. One of them was Deen Dayal Upadhyay and the other was Sudarshan. Sudarshan was repairing the mic at that time. Then he gestured to the workers and said that they should not mistake this thin boy for Mike. He is a telecommunication engineer and has become your state campaigner from today. Sudarshan was so easy going and his working style was so serious and disciplined. Unique, unique.

When he left the responsibility of Sangh chief due to health reasons, the Sangh office in Bhopal was his residence for three years. He remained continuously active. Children and teenagers would go to the branches. Play with them. Told them stories. Laughing. Generally, a person sitting at a height is less able to escape from his aura. But, with Sudarshan this was not seen, it was felt. Every worker would be filled with energy after meeting him even in the later days. He has played an important role in the expansion of branches. He also expanded the Gurudakshina program being run for the expenses of the Sangh. as arranged.
