DENV 2 is also called D 2 strain. This strain has already been present but with time it became more serious. Talking about the strains of dengue, it exists in four main strains. Whose names are DENV-1. DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-4. Whenever a strain attacks, it also develops immunity against itself while recovering. But there is scope for attack by other strains. WHO has also claimed that two strains together can infect the patient. In such a situation the situation may become more serious. Talking about the last few years, till 2012, D1 and D3 strains were more effective in India, but since then D2 has started becoming more dominant.
What are the changed symptoms?
It is common for platelets to fall in dengue. But due to the effect of the new variant, the rate of platelet fall increases very fast. Apart from this, the risk of hemorrhagic fever has also increased due to this variant. In this fever, apart from high fever, vomiting, headache, joint pain can also occur. Some people may experience rashes, nervousness, excessive weakness and bleeding from the gums. Therefore, it is being advised to consult a doctor as soon as high fever occurs.
