This skin related disease can be the cause of heart disease! keep this thing in mind

Heart Disease: Recently a new research has also come to light regarding coronary microvascular dysfunction i.e. heart disease. According to researchers, dangerous skin related diseases can also be the reason for this.

Heart Disease: Cases related to heart diseases are increasing rapidly across the world. Due to this, about 18 million people are dying every year all over the world. Studies and research have been done on many causes of heart related diseases. But recently a team of researchers has discovered a new risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

According to researchers, psoriasis can also be the cause of heart disease. Psoriasis is a skin related disease, which is considered quite dangerous. Actually, in psoriasis, the skin becomes red and flaky as well as covered with white crusts. Let us tell you that in most people only small spots are visible on the skin, whereas in some cases the spots may cause itching or swelling.

What was found in the research?

A team of researchers from Italy and Greece studied 503 psoriasis patients. According to researchers, people with severe psoriasis were at higher risk of heart diseases. High risk of coronary microvascular dysfunction was found in these people. Among all these people, 30 percent patients were without symptoms.

Researchers found that Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) and hypertension may increase the risk of coronary microvascular dysfunction. Things like high PASI, long duration of illness and hypertension are associated with heart diseases. An increase of 1 point in PASI and having psoriasis for more than a year can increase the risk of renal microvascular dysfunction by 5.8% and 4.6%, respectively.

What is coronary microvascular dysfunction?

Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) is an abnormal heart condition. This is a heart disease that affects the walls and inner lining of the blood vessels of the small coronary arteries that branch off from the larger coronary arteries. In this condition, plaque does not accumulate in the coronary arteries, but the inner walls of the arteries can spasm, Due to which the blood flow in the heart muscles can be hindered.

For people who are at risk for developing coronary microvascular dysfunction, it is important to be aware of all risk factors for the disease, including psoriasis.
