He said that today the world is connecting with India through cricket. The design of this stadium is dedicated to Mahadev. The PM said that earlier sports were considered just an extra activity. Now it has been decided to teach it as a subject in schools.

There is a need to groom sports experts- PM

Prime Minister Modi said that earlier people used to ask their children to study. There was pressure on children to study. Today the atmosphere of the country has changed. People now also send their children to sports. The PM said that when a cricket stadium is built, it impacts not only the sport but also the economy. PM said that it is my wish that the youth of the state should earn their name in sports. The PM said that the youth of Varanasi should have facilities for high level sports. Therefore Rs 450 crores are being spent on the stadium. PM Modi said that sports experts are present in every village. There is a need to search and hone them.

This is PM Modi's first visit to Kashi after providing rights to half the population through the reservation bill. Therefore, this tour becomes even more special. There will also be entertainment facilities. Mini auditoriums will be built. There will be hostel arrangements. Residential flats will also be built for canteen and staff.

Cricket Stadium: Trishul shaped lights, Damru shaped media center

The international cricket stadium for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to lay the foundation stone today will cost Rs 330 crore. Its construction work will be completed by 2025. Trishul shaped floodlights will be installed here. A damru shaped media center will be built. Crescent shaped roofs will be made. Apart from these, the construction of the stadium will be spread over an area of ​​31.6 acres. There will be a capacity of 30 thousand spectators. Seven pitches will be made in the stadium.
