Why did RBI take this decision?

Before this, the official state holiday of Anant Chaturdashi is falling on the same day on 28th September on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan and Eid Milad-un-Nabi. In such a situation, holiday had to be announced. When the Maharashtra government extended the holiday, RBI also extended the bank holiday in the state to 29 September. Now there will be a bank holiday in Maharashtra on 29th September. Apart from this, banks will also remain closed in Gangtok and Jammu-Srinagar on Friday and Rs 2000 notes will not be exchanged.
