What is e-highway: Vehicles running on petrol and diesel will not run on the electric highway. This highway will be eco-friendly. This will not harm the environment in any way. Our dependence on diesel-petrol will reduce. By building such new highways, a new transportation system will develop and traffic pressure will reduce.
At the Indo-US Economic Summit held in New Delhi, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said, electric buses are being preferred in the country. Now the government is preparing for an electric highway between Delhi and Jaipur. Earlier in one of his statements, the Union Minister had talked about building an electric highway between Delhi and Mumbai.
Now the question arises that what is e-highway, how will it work, what will be the benefit to the common people and what relief will the government get from it.
What is E i.e. Electric Highway?
Electric i.e. e-highway is prevalent in many countries of the world. If you understand in simple language, just as the train runs on electricity, in the same way electric wires will be installed on the highway. Trucks and other vehicles will be connected to it. Such e-highways are seen in many countries of the world. Now it will be developed in India also. Although this will be a new type of transport system for India, it is already in practice in Germany and Sweden. At the same time, there are preparations to bring it in Britain also.
Why are preparations being made to develop it ?
In fact, efforts are being made all over the world to save fuel and prevent pollution. The new electric highway is also part of this initiative. Apart from this, rising prices of diesel and petrol are also increasing the problems.
Experts say that looking at the current situation, it can be said that the coming time will be of electric vehicles and electric highways. Efforts are being made to increase these in the world.
There are three types of e-highways?
There are three types of e-highway systems in different countries of the world. This includes pantograph, conduction and induction models.
Pantograph Model: In this method of e-highway, wires are installed above the road. Whenever a vehicle passes under it, the wire supplies electricity to it. This is the most common e-highway. It first started in Sweden.
Conduction Model: In this model the wires are laid inside the road. A pantograph is installed at the rear of the vehicle and it hits the electrical wires and receives energy.
Induction Model: Wires are not used in this model. Electromagnetic current is used to deliver electricity to the vehicle. This type of e-highway is rarely used.
How much will the common man benefit?
Its direct impact will be visible on the expenses of the common man. The cost of vehicle movement will reduce. In the report of The Print, Union Minister Gadkari says that vehicles will run at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour on the e-highway. This will reduce expenses by 70 percent.
Since vehicles running on petrol and diesel will not run on this highway. Therefore this highway will be eco-friendly. This will not harm the environment in any way. Our dependence on diesel-petrol will reduce. By building such new highways, a new transportation system will develop and traffic pressure will reduce.
