Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan has once again raised the issue of Kashmir in the UN General Assembly. In his address to world leaders, he said, efforts for peace in Kashmir should be taken forward through dialogue and cooperation between India and Pakistan. Now Pakistan has also reacted to this statement of Turkey. Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that on the issue of Kashmir, Pakistan has always said that it welcomes third party mediation on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in the context of UN Security Council resolutions and principles of international law.
Let us tell you that recently many world leaders including Turkey have offered to pay attention to Pakistan-India talks. When Mumtaz Zahra Baloch was asked on this matter, if Turkey plays the role of mediator, will Pakistan welcome it? Is there any possibility of a meeting with the External Affairs Minister of India in the 78th session of UNGA? In response to this, Balus said, no sideline meeting is expected with India. Regarding third party mediation, Pakistan has always welcomed third parties. He said that Pakistan has always said that it is ready to talk with India on all pending issues, especially the main dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmir issue was also raised in UNHRC
Turkey is continuously giving controversial statements on different platforms regarding Kashmir. Earlier, Turkey had also raised the issue of Kashmir in the UNHRC meeting in March. After this, India advised Turkey to stay away from the internal affairs of the country. Last year too, Turkey had raised the issue of Kashmir in the UNGA meeting. At that time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan had said that the issue of Kashmir has been complicated for 74 years. He said that both sides should work together with the United Nations to find a solution.
Turkey has supported Pakistan every time
Turkey has been supporting Pakistan every time it goes against India on the issue of Kashmir. Last year, in the voting on Kashmir in the General Assembly meeting, out of 193 countries, only Turkey supported Pakistan's proposal. Let us tell you that Türkiye and Pakistan are big partners in the field of defense.
