Alfred later appeared before the world as a great chemist. He also discovered dynamite. He was equally interested in literature as he was in science. He also used to write poems. He was not only a scientist but also an industrialist. He had established many factories in different parts of the world. He did not marry. Noble said goodbye to the world on 10 December 1896. He was full of humanity.

A year before his death, he had written a will, in which he dedicated a large part of his property to people who had made the greatest contribution to physics, chemistry, medical science, literature and peace. According to the will, the Nobel Foundation was established in June 1900 and Nobel Prizes were awarded for the first time in 1901. In 1968, the Swedish Central Bank announced another prize in honor of Alfred Nobel, which was to be given to scholars working in the field of economics.

The bank provides funds for this award but the rest of the things are looked after by the committee formed by the Nobel Foundation. In this way, Nobels are being given in six fields in the world. Celebrities who are rewarded with the amount of interest received from their property are given cash awards as well as citations, gold medals, etc. The King of Sweden gives this award every year in a grand ceremony held in Stockholm. With time this amount increased and at present it is one crore Swedish Krona.

From the year 1901 to 2022, a total of 989 people and institutions have received Nobel Prizes.

The award can be given to a maximum of three people in one category.

There is a provision to give this award only to living persons, however, even if a celebrity dies after it is announced, the award will be given.
