In the second match of ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Pakistan tasted defeat to Netherlands by 81 runs. On behalf of Netherlands, Bas de Leede presented a brilliant all-round performance in this match. Due to this brilliant performance, De Leede became the first player to score 50+ runs and take 4+ wickets in consecutive ODI matches. 

All-rounder De Leede took 4 wickets while conceding 62 runs in 9 overs against Pakistan. After this he displayed brilliant batting. Facing 68 balls, he played a half-century inning of 67 runs with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. Before this, he played his last ODI against Scotland in the World Cup Qualifiers. In this match, he scored a century of 123 runs in 92 balls with the help of 7 fours and 5 sixes and while bowling, he took 5 wickets while spending 52 runs in 10 overs. Due to this, De Leede emerged as the first player to score 50+ runs and take 4+ wickets in consecutive ODI matches. 

Bas de Leede repeated the performance of his father Tim after 20 years by taking 4 wickets against Pakistan. Tim De Leede dismissed Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan against India in the 2003 World Cup. He became the man of the match in this match. However, India won the match by 68 runs. 

In the second match of the World Cup, Pakistan, batting first, was all out on the score of 286 in 49 overs. On behalf of the team, Saud Shakeel played a half-century inning of 68 runs in 52 balls with the help of 9 fours and one six. Whereas Mohammad Rizwan also played a half-century inning of 68 (75) runs. In this innings he hit 8 fours. While chasing the target, the Netherlands team fell to the score of 205 in 41 overs. Haris Rauf took maximum 3 wickets for Pakistan.
