Centre's plan to deal with leftist extremism
Left-wing extremism has been a major challenge for many decades. Although this is a matter of states, the central government has decided to come together and deal with it jointly. In this struggle, the Home Ministry had launched a National Policy Action Plan in the year 2015. Since then the situation is being strictly monitored. Emphasis is being laid on development work. Under this policy, the Home Ministry is helping the states by deploying CAPF battalions, providing facilities like helicopters and UAVs and India Reserve Battalion (IRB) and Special India Reserve Battalion (SIRB).
This is how states get help in dealing with leftist extremism
The central government is providing more help to the states in dealing with leftist extremism. Such as modernizing the state police, giving special training to the police force, providing funds for security related expenses and infrastructure. Many important initiatives include approving 17,600 km of road construction. The focus is on increasing connectivity in remote areas in the affected states.
