Tamil actor Vishal had recently accused the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Mumbai of taking bribe. Vishal had highlighted the matter by tweeting to all the senior officials from the IB Ministry to the Prime Minister. Vishal has claimed that CBFC has taken Rs 6.5 lakh as bribe to give censor certificate to the Hindi version of his upcoming film 'Mark Antony'. Now showing strictness on this whole matter, CBFC has taken action.
Central Board of Film Certification Chairman Prasoon Joshi had called a meeting on this matter. After which a special advisory has been issued by CBFC for film producers and makers. CBFC Chairman has said that no agent or third party will be tolerated in the name of getting films certified.
It has also been said that the entire process of giving certification to films or passing them is online, but now more strictness will be taken in this matter. CBFC gives certificates to about 12,000-18,000 films every year. This work takes a lot of hard work. In such a situation, the makers are requested to avoid any haste and follow the online process only.
Let us tell you that actor Vishal had shared a video in which he had accused CBFC officials of demanding a bribe of Rs 6.5 lakh for screening his film Mark Antony and giving U/A certificate. Vishal had written that it is okay to show corruption on screen, but it is wrong to show it in real life.
