The water level of Teesta river has increased by 15 to 20 feet.

There was sudden flood in Teesta river in Lachen valley due to sudden cloud burst over Lhonak lake.

More than 3000 tourists are stranded in different parts of Sikkim.

14 bridges have collapsed due to floods. Of these, 9 bridges are under BRO and 5 belong to the state government.

About 166 people have been rescued so far. An army soldier is also included in these.

Rescue workers retrieved several bodies from the flooded area of ​​Teesta river at Golitar in Singtam.

Chief Minister Tamang visited Singtam to assess the damage caused by the flood.

Due to continuous rains, a part of NH-10 had caved in due to slipping of rocks and soil under the road.

Apart from the torrential rains in the state in the last few days, the rise in water level in Teesta river has affected many places in Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri districts.
