Bangladesh had a bad start while chasing the target and with the total score of 27 runs, both the openers were out and returned to the pavilion. After this, Mehdi Hasan Miraj along with Nazmul Hussain Shanto made a partnership of 97 runs. Miraj scored 57 runs in 73 balls with the help of 5 fours, while Shanto scored unbeaten 59 runs in 83 balls, in which he hit 3 fours and 1 six. Due to which Bangladesh won at the loss of 4 wickets in 34.4 overs.
For Afghanistan, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Azmatullah Omarzai and Naveen Ul Haq took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Afghanistan team was all out for 156 runs in 37.2 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz played the highest innings of 47 runs. Whereas Azmatullah Umarzai and Ibrahim Zadran scored 22-22 runs. Six batsmen of the team could not reach double figures.
For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan Miraz took 3 wickets for 25 runs and captain Shakib Al Hasan took 3 wickets for 30 runs. Shoriful Islam took 2 wickets, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman took 1 wicket each.
