The number of patients in hospitals is also continuously increasing. In view of the increasing danger of dengue, doctors have advised everyone to remain alert. Meanwhile, cases of seasonal flu have also started increasing in the country. The scope of flu is increasing due to changing weather. The problem is that most of the symptoms of dengue and seasonal flu are similar. Because of this, there is a lot of confusion among people regarding these two diseases. Many people are getting tested for dengue only after showing symptoms of seasonal flu, but the dengue report in them is coming negative.
In such a situation, it is very important for people to know what is the difference between the symptoms of seasonal flu and dengue? To know this we have talked to experts.
Professor Dr. Jugal Kishore, HOD in the Community Medicine Department at Safdarjung Hospital, says that many symptoms of dengue and seasonal flu are similar. It causes problems like fever, cold, muscle pain and headache, but some symptoms of dengue are quite different from flu. Which you can identify like this.
These are the differences in symptoms
Dr. Kishore explains that red rashes can appear on the body in dengue, but this does not happen in seasonal flu. In flu the fever remains up to 100 or 101 degrees, but in dengue the fever goes up to 104 degrees. Dengue causes vomiting and diarrhea, but this does not happen in seasonal flu. In seasonal flu, fever rises and falls, but in dengue the fever persists.
Consult a doctor
If you have flu symptoms that persist for two to three days, you should consult a doctor. This is because apart from dengue and seasonal flu, cases of typhoid are also coming at this time. In such a situation, it is important not to wait for more than two days in case of fever and also get tested for dengue. With timely diagnosis of dengue, serious symptoms in the patient can be reduced.
