Having diabetes at this age can reduce a person's lifespan by up to 14 years.

Research by Cambridge University has revealed that the risk of many other diseases increases in patients suffering from type-2 diabetes. In those who have become victims of diabetes under the age of 30, the risk of death has been seen to be 8 to 14 years earlier than the normal age. This is because diabetes also affects many other parts of the body.
