A car fell into the Periyar river in Kochi, Kerala. Two doctors traveling in the car died in this accident. Meanwhile, three other people were injured and have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The names of both the deceased are Advait (29) and Ajmal (29). He was a doctor of a private hospital. It is being told that Dr. Advait was driving the car and he had turned on Google Map of his mobile.
The incident happened late Saturday night. At the same time, a police officer said that there has been heavy rain in Gothuruth. Visibility was also very low. The young man driving the car was going on the route shown by Google Map. He had to turn the car at the left turn, but he accidentally went ahead and the car fell into the river.
All five were returning to Kodungallur from Kochi.
Seeing the accident, a crowd of local people immediately gathered at the spot. A person present there called the police and informed them. According to Times of India, Saturday was Dr. Advait's birthday. Four other people were present in the car along with Advait. All five were returning to Kodungallur from Kochi. It is being told that these people had gone shopping on the occasion of Advait's birthday.
'We were moving ahead with the help of GPS'
Meanwhile, Dr. Ghazik Thabsir, who survived the accident, told that we were moving ahead with the help of GPS. I was not driving the car. I cannot give any precise answer on whether the accident happened due to wrong direction given by Google Map or due to loss of control of the vehicle. At the same time, after the accident, the family members are in bad condition and crying. Police is busy investigating the accident. A police officer said that the bodies of both the doctors have been taken into custody. Post mortem of the dead bodies will be done.
