Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding is beneficial for the newborn baby and its mother in many ways. Mother's milk is an invaluable source of nutrients for the child and breastfeeding increases the child's immunity. This reduces the risk of many diseases like infection, allergy etc. in the baby. Breastfeeding has many benefits for the mother as well. It can also be very beneficial for the mother's health. Many researches have shown that the risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, diabetes and postpartum depression is reduced in breastfeeding women and it also helps in reducing weight. 

Risk of breast cancer 

According to doctors, women who do not breastfeed have a higher risk of getting breast cancer. It is a proven fact that breastfeeding can be helpful in preventing breast cancer. Therefore, women must breastfeed for the health of themselves and their children. By not breastfeeding, they can become victims of serious diseases like breast cancer. The best way to prevent breast cancer is to breastfeed. 

Lactation Amenorrhea:

When a woman does not breastfeed, she is at risk of lactation amenorrhea. Lactation amenorrhea is a condition commonly seen in women who do not breastfeed. In lactation amenorrhea, women experience interruptions and irregularities in their menstrual cycles. This condition occurs due to a sudden drop in the level of a hormone called prolactin after breastfeeding stops.

Ovarian Cancer 

Ovarian cancer is one of the most common cancers in women. There can be many reasons for this, but many researches have shown that women who breastfeed have much less chances of getting ovarian cancer. Breastfeeding increases the level of hormones like prolactin and estrogen in the body which provide protection from ovarian cancer. Therefore, women must breastfeed for the health of themselves and their child. Not breastfeeding can lead to serious diseases like ovarian cancer. 

Weight loss:

There are many benefits of breastfeeding, one of which is that it can reduce the mother's weight. During breastfeeding, the mother's body consumes energy due to which the extra fat accumulated during pregnancy starts reducing. According to a study, breastfeeding mothers are able to lose more weight than mothers who do not breastfeed. Therefore, breastfeeding is beneficial for both mother and child.
