Akshay Kumar's film 'Mission Raniganj' is inspired by a true incident. In this film, Akshay is playing the role of real life hero Jaswant Singh Gill, who risked his life to save the lives of 65 mine workers trapped about 350 feet below the ground. Akshay Kumar's film 'Mission Raniganj' is also among the films releasing this week.
In 2006, in Kurukshetra, Haryana, despite having new technology, the operation to save the Prince who had fallen 50 feet below in a borewell took 3 days, while 18 years before this incident, in 1989, Jaswant Singh Gill had rescued a prince who had fallen 50 feet below the ground in just 2 days. The lives of 65 trapped laborers were saved. Akshay Kumar has once again presented before us a new aspect of his talent through the character of 'Capsule Man' Jaswant Singh. From the beginning till the last moment, this film does not let us move from our seats.
The basic methods of British technology, dating back almost two hundred and fifty years, are still used in coal mines around the world. The first coal mine in India was started by British officers working for the East India Company in 'Raniganj'. Obviously, the entire coal business of India was taken from the system created by the British. Even though these mines of England and India were at a distance of 6000 kilometers from each other, there was one thing in common in both the mines and that was the accidents occurring in the mines.
Story
Jaswant Singh Gill (Akshay Kumar) comes to Raniganj with his pregnant wife Nazukta (Parineeti Chopra). Jaswant was working as a rescue engineer in Coal India Limited in Raniganj, West Bengal. When the mine was flooded after the blast in the mine, Jaswant took the responsibility of saving 71 people trapped underground. However, before the mission could begin, 6 laborers died. To know how Jaswant completes this difficult mission, you will have to watch ' Mission Raniganj ' in the theatre.
Direction and writing
This film has been directed by Tinu Desai, after Rustom, this is Tinu's second film with Akshay Kumar and in this film he does not disappoint us at all. In about 7 years, there has been a lot of change in Tinu's vision and his direction and this change is also visible in this film. This concept is of Poonam Gill i.e. Jaswant Gill's daughter and the screenplay of this story has been written by Vipul K Rawat.
Talking about the direction of 'Mission Raniganj', the story as well as the detailing of this film will impress you. A great effort has been made to depict the 80s in the film. The atmosphere of that time, the clothes used by the people and their language, all these have been taken great care of. Old fashioned cars have been used in the film. During this rescue mission, the story does not progress at the same pace as in a documentary. Sometimes it makes you laugh even in an atmosphere of tension, and sometimes it makes you cry immediately while laughing. Despite knowing the beginning and ending, you connect with this film and this is Tinu's biggest success.
acting
This is 'Akshay Kumar' film, Akshay Kumar has played the character of Jaswant Singh, who ignores his own health and keeps a calm mind in difficult times, doing his work very beautifully. 'Mission Raniganj' impresses more than the airlift. In the film, Jaswant is on one side and his wife is on the other side. Parineeti Chopra, who plays the role of Akshay Kumar's wife, looks positive to such an extent that the person in front of her gets worried. However, he has not got anything special to do in this film. Actors like Varun Barola, Kumud Mishra, Ravi Kishan, Pawan Malhotra and Divyendu Bhattacharya give complete justice to their characters.
Cinematography, Music and Technology
Editing of the film has played an important role in making the story interesting. Aseem Mishra's cinematography has passed with flying colors in the detailing of the mine, the lighting done in the dark and the shooting done in the mine. The songs in the film are nothing special, but the background music is amazing, due to which every scene has become more interesting. Be it filling water in a mine, making a capsule for rescue, or the climax of the film.
This film teaches those who are looking for a superhero around them that they can become the hero of their own story, but for this it is necessary to face difficulties. There is a Jaswant Singh Gill inside everyone, who makes every impossible thing possible with the right thinking and courage.
