New record made, GST collection reached Rs 1.62 lakh crore with 10% growth in September

GST has brought a collection of Rs 1.62 lakh crore to the government in September. With this a new record of GST collection has also been made.

Now lakhs of crores of rupees are coming into the pocket of the Central Government every month through GST i.e. Goods and Services Tax. In September 2023, it has made a new record. The government's GST collection has increased by 11 percent compared to last year to Rs 1,62,712 crore. This is the fourth time in the current financial year when the government's GST collection has crossed Rs 1.60 lakh crore.

Out of this Rs 1.62 lakh crore, the government has collected Rs 29,818 crore from Central GST. The government has earned Rs 37,657 crore from State GST and Rs 83,623 crore from Integrated GST. Integrated GST includes Rs 41,145 crore earned from import duty and Rs 11,613 crore cess.

GST collection increased at domestic level

A growth of 14 percent has been recorded in the GST collection collected on domestic transactions in the month of September. At the same time, out of Integrated GST, the government has settled Rs 33,736 crore for Central GST and Rs 27,578 crore for State GST. In this way, after settlement, the central GST collection has been Rs 63,555 crore and the state GST collection has been Rs 65,235 crore.

Government's bag filled in 6 months

In the first six months of the current financial year 2023-24, the government has earned a total of Rs 9,92,508 crore from GST. This is 11 percent more than the collection of Rs 8,93,334 crore in the same period of the last financial year. The government has collected an average of Rs 1.65 lakh crore every month from GST.

Highest growth in Ladakh-Manipur

If we look at the state wise, the highest growth in GST collection has been seen in Ladakh and Manipur. GST collection in Ladakh has increased by 81%. Whereas in Manipur this growth has been 47%. In this case, Jammu and Kashmir has been in third place, where GST collection has increased by 32 percent.

At the same time, GST collection has also fallen in some states. In Lakshadweep this decline has been 45 percent. After this, it has been 30 percent in Andaman and Nicobar and 5 percent in Bihar.
