Not getting cooperation from the host country, what were the reasons given for closing the Afghan embassy in India?

The Taliban regime has officially severed relations with India. Afghanistan embassy in India has been closed. There were reports of closure of the embassy for the last few days. Now Taliban issued a statement confirming these reports. Along with this, some reasons for closure were also mentioned.

The Taliban regime of Afghanistan has officially severed relations with India. Afghan ambassadors were working in India for two years after Taliban took power. India also had no problem with this but for the last few days there were reports of closure of the embassy. Now Taliban confirmed these reports and issued a statement with some claims. India has not recognized the Taliban as the government of Afghanistan and hence there is no dialogue between the two countries. Know what reasons the Taliban gave for this?

In a statement issued by the Taliban regime, it has been claimed that it is not getting cooperation from the host country and hence it has had to close its embassy. The statement said that due to lack of some necessary support, they were not able to do their work properly.

The Taliban has acknowledged the lack of diplomatic support in India and its shortcomings in meeting the needs of Afghanistan and serving its citizens. Taliban has also given this as a reason behind closing the embassy.

The statement said that due to lack of adequate support for the diplomats from visa renewal to cooperation or other areas, there was disappointment in the team and ultimately the decision to close the embassy had to be taken.

The Afghan embassy in India was headed by Ambassador Farid Mamundje. Mamundje was appointed by the previous Ashraf Ghani government and was still serving as the Afghan envoy after the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021.

In April-May, the Taliban tried to replace Mamundze with a new appointment to lead the mission. India had refused to accept this. Later the embassy issued a statement clarifying that no change has been made in the leadership.

The Taliban had tried to appoint Qadir Shah, who was heading the trade council in the embassy since 2020, as the new envoy. In April, he claimed to be the new ambassador in a letter to the Indian Foreign Ministry.

India has not yet recognized the Taliban regime and has been advocating the restoration of the elected government in Kabul. India's stand is clear that Afghan soil should not be used for terrorist activities against any country.
