Quinton de Kock broke the record of great Jacques Kallis, scored 66 runs in 15 balls in a explosive century.

South African opening batsman Quinton de Kock created history by scoring a brilliant century in the World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka on Saturday (7 October). Scoring his first century in his World Cup career, De Kock scored 100 runs in 84 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes. With this he made some special records.

De Kock has reached fourth place in terms of scoring most ODI centuries for South Africa. This is the 18th century of De Kock's ODI career. In this matter, he left behind Jacques Kallis, who had scored 17 centuries in his career. Hashim Amla is at first place in this list, who has scored 27 centuries. AB de Villiers is at second place with 25 centuries and Herschelle Gibbs is at third place with 21 centuries.

Apart from this, De Kock has become the fifth player for South Africa to hit 100 sixes in ODIs. Before him, only De Villiers, Kallis, Gibbs and David Miller had achieved this feat.

Let us tell you that De Kock has announced his retirement from ODI, after the World Cup he will say goodbye to this format.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, South Africa did not have a good start and got the first blow in the form of captain Temba Bavuma on 10 runs. After this, De Kock along with Rassie Van Dusen added 204 runs for the second wicket.
