Shahid Kapoor did not want to do the film Kabir Singh, then how did he agree?

Shahid Kapoor's film Kabir Singh, released in the year 2019, was a blockbuster. This is one of the biggest films of his career. Recently in an interview he told that earlier he was going to refuse to do this film. However, his wife Mira Rajput motivated him, after which he agreed.

Please note that Kabir Singh is the Hindi remake of South actor Vijay Deverakonda's film Arjun Reddy. Shahid told that Vijay's film was sent to him. The makers wanted to remake it and wanted to know whether Shahid would like to do this film or not.
