Storm 'Koinu' wreaks havoc in Taiwan, flood like situation after heavy rains, more than 200 injured

The powerful storm that hit Taiwan has caused great devastation. Due to the storm, the roofs of many houses were blown away. The torrential rains along with the storm have submerged many areas. So far, more than 3000 people have been evacuated to safe places.

The storm that hit Taiwan has caused huge devastation. Within a few seconds the roofs of many houses were also blown away. Many areas have been flooded due to storm and rain. Actually, the first typhoon Koinu hit Taiwan. After that heavy rain started in many parts. The rain was so severe that within a few hours a flood-like situation arose. The government claims that due to the storm, there was darkness in the houses of about three and a half lakh people. Electric poles have fallen at many places.

The storm has completely halted bus, train and air traffic. More than 200 international and local flights were cancelled. Hundreds of vehicles have also been damaged due to the storm, especially those parked on the roadside. Trees uprooted due to the storm have fallen on many vehicles.

Schools and colleges closed, more than 200 injured

In view of the storm, schools and colleges were already closed in many parts of Taiwan. Typhoon Koinu hit southern Taiwan on Thursday, after which it moved ahead. According to media reports, more than 200 people are said to be injured so far due to the storm, but there is no news of anyone's death.

Efforts are being made to restore power supply

After the warning of the storm, the government had already evacuated those areas where there was a high possibility of devastation. People have been shifted to safe places. At present, government agencies are providing electricity supply, removal of fallen trees on the roads as well as providing relief and rescue to the people trapped in waterlogged areas to reach safe places.
