Raina took his initial cricket coaching from his wife's father Satpal. During this time he became friends with Priyanka. After completing her studies, Priyanka went to Australia and Raina started playing for India. After 8 years, both of them met for the first time in Australia, where Raina proposed Priyanka for marriage.
After this they got married on 3 April 2015. At present the couple are parents of two children. These days, Raina has started his second innings as a cricket commentator. During this time, he is also seen playing in many private tournaments.
