Swaminarayan Akshardham program celebrated with great enthusiasm in New Jersey, America, Abhishek idol of Shri Neelkanth Varni installed


Speaking as the chief guest at the function, Pujya Swami Govinddev Giri, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said, “I have spent many days at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, and I myself believe that by coming to these places no one can forget about the Hindu culture. Mahant Swami Maharaj launched the series of inauguration ceremonies of BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA on 30 September (Saturday) with a grand program. The event celebrated the consecration of the Abhishek Murti of Shri Neelkanth Varni, the childhood name of Lord Swaminarayan, which commemorates his early days of pilgrimage. 400 Hindu organizations participated in 'Celebrating Sanatan Dharma'.

His journey has inspired people across the world to embrace universal concepts like unconditional love, empathy and simplicity in both ordinary and extraordinary circumstances. On the arrival of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the senior swamis performed Vedic rituals and worship which is called Prasad Pravesh Ceremony.

Water collected from 555 religious places

Generally, Prasad Pravesh ceremony is organized when one enters a new premises or building for the first time. For this auspicious occasion, holy soil and water was collected from 555 religious places in many countries across the world as well as parts of India. The purpose behind including these things in Akshardham is that the people coming here will feel the sanctity and purity of the holy places of India.

Mahant Swami Maharaj visited the 13 inner chambers (sanctums), called sanctums, to honor the many deities of the Hindu faith. The sacred statue of Neelkanth Varni will be installed on the ground floor of Akshardham. Neelkanth Varni Abhishek idol was consecrated by Mahant Swami Maharaj. The idol consecration ceremony was not just an event but it was a pleasant feeling associated with a spiritual journey. Then in the evening, an inspirational programme, “Celebrating Sanatan Dharma” was also organized as a part of the celebrations.

Many famous personalities from India and abroad

Hundreds of members and trustees of Hindu temples, as well as leaders and organizers, came together to celebrate and exchange ideas on the rich heritage of Sanatan Dharma in North America. The 10-day grand dedication ceremony of BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham will conclude on October 8.

Many eminent speakers, scholars and thinkers from the Hindu community presented their views in the program, including Swami Govinddev Giri Ji, Swami Mukundananda Ji, Jeffrey Armstrong (Kavindra Rishi), Ved Nanda, President of Hindu University of America, Education Minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America. Vice President Dr. Jai Bansal and Head of International Transcendental Meditation Dr. Tony Nadar also attended. During this, the speakers presented their views on many aspects related to Sanatan Dharma.

Maharaj's divine vision was to build Swaminarayan Akshardham to strengthen Sanatan Dharma for the sake of future generations, while keeping his life's motto 'In the Joy of Others Lies Our Own'.
