Top White House official John Kirby said while talking to the media that Bangladesh PM discussed with American NSA Sullivan about the general elections to be held in Bangladesh. Both the leaders talked about the importance of free and fair elections in the country. Many issues including climate change were discussed. Apart from this, there was discussion about the importance of improving bilateral relations.

A day before this, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said while talking to journalists that America wants Bangladesh to conduct general elections in its country in a free and fair manner. There should be no disturbance of any kind during this period. Miller said that everyone in Bangladesh has only one desire that the general elections should be conducted peacefully. Miller said that we have already announced our new visa policy. He said that America will not give visa to anyone who obstructs free and fair elections.

After this, opposition parties are organizing programs across the country including Dhaka. Let us tell you that Bangladesh has been accused of not conducting free and fair elections.
