The Sikh Guru who saved the life of Dara Shikoh, silenced Aurangzeb and expelled his son from the Sikh sect.

Guru Har Rai Birth Anniversary: Mughal ruler Aurangzeb did not like him under any circumstances. He became further irritated when they saved the life of his brother Dara Shikoh. Aurangzeb summoned Guru Har Rai to Delhi and he silenced the emperor with his reply.

He was young but had more responsibility. Experience was less but the vision was clear. At the age of just 14, he became the seventh Guru of the Sikhs. He held this post for only 17 years. In so few years, he drew such a line that today he is immortal and present among us through his thoughts and messages. His name is Guru Har Rai. Today is the death anniversary of Guru Har Rai, who without any malice saved the life of Dara Shikoh, son of Mughal ruler Shahjahan.

He was born to Baba Guru Ditta and mother Nihal Kaur. He was a master of sharp intelligence from the beginning. Used to encourage the soldiers but did not have confidence in the fight. But, if someone attacked, he did not hold back in giving a befitting reply. The impact of his life was very profound. Public welfare work was pleasing to his heart. He also made many journeys. Wherever he went he would inspire us to create a resting place among our loved ones. Inspire the langar. At the age of just 14, the sixth Guru Har Gobind Singh handed over this Gurutar responsibility to him, but this childless seventh Guru did not disappoint the Sikh community.

when his convoy was attacked

There are many interesting stories about him, which testify to him being a brave, noble person and a good guiding guru. He was also the father of two sons, Ram Rai and Harikishan Singh. He was of calm nature. Despite this, he not only reorganized the Sikh warriors formed by his grandfather Guru Har Gobind Singh Sahib but also infused new energy into them. Got benefit from this also.

He was returning from Malwa-Doaba. On the way Mohammad Yarbeg Khan attacked his convoy. He had around a thousand soldiers. He was not prepared for the sudden attack but came forward himself with his Sikh warriors. Fought and defeated them. Some were killed and some ran away from the battle. He was a devotee of non-violence but considered weapon training and keeping weapons essential for personal security. He was also known for rewarding his warriors from time to time.

Aurangzeb was irritated at saving his brother's life.

Mughal ruler Aurangzeb did not like him under any circumstances. He became further irritated when they saved the life of his brother Dara Shikoh. Aurangzeb summoned Guru Har Rai to Delhi. In his place, his son Ram Rai went to Delhi. There he presented a wrong interpretation of Guruvani in the Mughal court. When Guru Har Rai came to know about this incident, he expelled his son from the Sikh sect. He did not like any kind of compromise with the nation and the Sikh sect.

This incident gave a strong message to the Sikh community. He started appearing more disciplined and dedicated towards Guru Granth Sahib, Sikh community and the nation.

Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was irritated with them. After the poisoning incident, when Guru Har Rai arranged the treatment for Dara Shikoh through his own established Ayurveda center, he forgot that Dara Shikoh was the brother of Aurangzeb. At that time he was busy making proper arrangements for the treatment of a patient. Dara Shikoh's life was saved at that time so Aurangzeb sent him a call. Guru lived every opinion. He asked why they were helping the Mughal prince? Whose ancestors had committed severe atrocities on Sikh Gurus and ancestors.

Guru Har Rai gave a very beautiful answer. He said – Even if a person plucks a flower with one hand and gives it to the other hand, the fragrance of the flower remains intact. It doesn't matter. Aurangzeb was speechless.
