She was brave. She was full of self-respect. People loved him. Public welfare was in his blood. She was an excellent leader. He had a lot of love from the people. Defeated the Mughals not once but many times. But, due to the betrayal of her own people, she got trapped in the battlefield. Many arrows hit. They felt that their lives would not be saved. If the enemy could arrest or touch her, she did not shy away from making the supreme sacrifice with her own dagger.
Indian history knows her by the name of the brave queen Durgavati. Today i.e. on 5th October, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, PM Modi will reach Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, which is known as the land of heroines. Will do Bhoomi Pujan of the memorial to be built in the memory of Rani Durgavati.
Rani Durgavati may have been a queen during her time but her Gond clan currently comes under the category of Scheduled Tribe. In the politics of Madhya Pradesh, the influence of ST voters is on 80-85 seats. Here, victory is won by the one towards whom the class turns. They also lose, due to which this class gets upset. Certainly this section is struggling with poverty. All the measures till now have failed but the importance of Rani Durgavati remains at its place, both in Indian politics and in our society, there is a tradition of giving her full respect, which is being followed by everyone.
Hence the name Durgavati
The story behind this honor and respect, which has been written by historians, is important in their loyalty, bravery, self-respect, their attitude of not bowing down before anyone. He was born on the day of Durga Ashtami to Raja Kirti Singh Chandel in Kalinjar Fort situated in present Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. That's why she was also named Durgavati.
She was the only child of her parents. With increasing age, his agility, intelligence and sharp intelligence started becoming apparent. Later, she got married to Prince Dalpat Shah of Gondwana state. After just four years, she took over the power of the state after her husband's untimely demise. At that time, Muslim invaders were competing to capture many places. They also tried to capture the Gondwana state, believing that why would a young woman, distressed by the untimely death of her husband, fight? But exactly the opposite happened.
When the Muslim ruler of Malwa had to face defeat
Baz Bahadur, the Muslim ruler of Malwa, had his eyes on both the queen and her kingdom but he could not spare even a hair. Had to eat it every time. In this way, a total of three major attacks were foiled by the same Queen Durgavati, whom Baz Bahadur considered to be young, weak and distressed. After the victory in these wars, the queen got immense wealth and the kingdom also expanded.
Friendship with weapons became skill
It is said that his rule extended to 80 thousand villages. Today's Jabalpur was the center of Rani Durgavati. She used to rule from here. She was so brave that when she went out to hunt a lion, she would not drink water until she killed the lion. Within a few days, war became his hobby and friendship with weapons became his skill. After defeating the Muslim rulers, he did not return again but in the meantime Akbar's attention went towards this kingdom and the queen.
When the Mughals were defeated
Mughal Emperor Akbar first sent a proposal asking to send Queen Durgavati's favorite elephant Sarman and her favorite minister Aadhar Singh to him as a gift, to which the queen clearly refused. Then Akbar attacked Gondwana under the leadership of Asaf Khan. For the first time Asaf had to eat food. Then he attacked again with double the preparation. The queen fought again and more than three thousand Mughal soldiers were killed. This date was 23 June 1964.
When loved ones betrayed you
Meanwhile, the queen's army also suffered losses and became weak. On the night of 23 June, Asaf Khan conspired with Badan Singh, a feudal lord of the queen. Due to her treachery, Asaf Khan got information about the queen's plan and also broke it. Working on the same plan, Asaf broke the mountain lake and filled the Narai drain with water, which was dry on June 23. On the morning of June 24, the queen's army was on this side of the drain and the Mughal army was on the other side. The queen's intention was to dispose of the Mughal army by encircling it in the forest, but due to the sudden rise of water in the drain, a flood-like situation was created and she could not do so.
His attack also started weakening. On the other hand, the artillery attack started. The queen was pierced by arrows first in the arm, then in the eye and in the neck. He ordered his close aide Aadhar Singh to blow his ass, for which he was not ready. The queen herself picked up the dagger and made her supreme sacrifice on the battlefield itself. She did not want to fall into the hands of the enemy army under any circumstances. In such a situation, he thought it appropriate to make a sacrifice. Why should the country not remember such a great brave woman, who sacrificed her life in patriotism.
Postage stamp was issued
Universities, colleges, schools, hospitals were opened in his name. Underlines his importance to the common people who even today celebrate his death anniversary and birth anniversary with pomp and show. Governments also play an important role in these events. The Government of India issued a postage stamp on her martyrdom day in 1988. No matter which party is in power in Madhya Pradesh, everyone has given respect to Rani Durgavati.
