World Cup 2023: Bas de Leede's all-round performance went in vain, Pakistan beats Netherlands by 81 runs

 


In the second match of World Cup 2023, Pakistan defeated Netherlands by 81 runs with the help of half-centuries from Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel. An all-round performance from Bas de Leede went in vain for the Netherlands. In this match played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, Netherlands won the toss and decided to bowl. 

Pakistan, batting first, collapsed on the score of 286 in 49 overs. On behalf of the team, Saud Shakeel played a half-century inning of 68 runs in 52 balls with the help of 9 fours and one six. Mohammad Rizwan also played a half-century inning of 68 (75) runs. In this innings he hit 8 fours. Both of them played a century partnership of 120 (114) runs.

Apart from these two, Mohammad Nawaz scored 39 runs in 43 balls with the help of 4 fours. Whereas Shadab Khan contributed 32 runs in 34 balls with the help of 2 fours and one six. Nawaz and Shadab made a partnership of 64 (70) runs. Bas de Leede got the maximum 4 wickets for Netherlands. 2 wickets went to Colin Ackerman's account. Aryan Dutt, Logan van Beek and Paul van Meekeren got one wicket each. 

Netherlands, chasing the target, was reduced to a score of 205 in 41 overs. Bas de Leede scored the most runs for Netherlands. He scored a half-century of 67 runs in 68 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. Vikramjit Singh played a half-century of 52 runs in 67 balls with the help of 4 fours and one six. Vikramjeet and D Leede added 70 (76) runs. Logan Van Beek scored 28* runs in 28 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Haris Rauf took maximum 3 wickets for Pakistan. Hasan Ali took 2 wickets. Shaheen Afridi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz got one wicket each.
