World Cup 2023: Jadeja, Rahul and Kohli shine in India's victory, defeat Australia by 6 wickets in a thrilling match

 


In the 5th match of the ICC World Cup 2023, India defeated Australia by 6 wickets with the help of Ravindra Jadeja's brilliant bowling and Virat Kohli-KL Rahul's half-centuries. In this match, Ishan Kishan is playing in place of Shubman Gill who is suffering from dengue. Whereas Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss in this match and decided to bat first. 

Batting first, the entire Australian team collapsed to a score of 199 in 49.3 overs. Steve Smith scored the most runs for Australia. He played an inning of 46 runs in 71 balls with the help of 5 fours. Apart from him, David Warner played an inning of 41 runs in 52 balls with the help of 6 fours. These two batsmen made a partnership of 69 (85) runs for the second wicket. 

Whereas Mitchell Starc contributed 28(35) and Marnus Labuschagne contributed 27(41) runs. Labuschagne and Smith made a partnership of 36 (64). Ravindra Jadeja took maximum 3 wickets for India. Apart from them, 2-2 wickets went to the account of Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah. Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Siraj got one wicket each. 

Chasing the target, the Indian team won the match by scoring 204 in 41.2 overs. KL Rahul scored the most runs for the team. Facing 115 balls, he played a half-century inning of 97* runs with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. Virat Kohli played a half-century of 85 runs in 116 balls with the help of 6 fours. Kohli and Rahul made a match-winning partnership of 165 (215) runs. Rohit Sharma 0(6), Ishan Kishan 0(1) and Shreyas Iyer were also out on the score of 0(3). Josh Hazlewood took maximum 3 wickets for Australia. Mitchell Starc took one wicket.
