World Cup 2023: Jos Buttler's heart broken by the defeat against New Zealand, said- they defeated us very badly

 

In the first match of the ODI World Cup 2023, New Zealand defeated the defending champions by 9 wickets with the help of centuries from Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. This is the first World Cup for Conway and Ravindra. After this defeat, England captain Jos Buttler looked quite disappointed. He said that New Zealand lost very badly.

I think a lot of people We are a team that has played a lot of cricket, we have beaten these types of teams before and have lost in a similar manner before. I thought we were way behind par and the way New Zealand batted showed that. It was a good wicket to bat on and it got even better in the light. It's difficult to create any pressure. We just didn't play well today. 

Butler further said, "We will remain positive and not be too defensive going forward. They played great cricket shots and they got a lot of advantage, there was very little margin for error on that pitch. Both guys played very well and we are in good shape." Lost like that. Chasing the target, the Kiwi team won the match by losing one wicket in 36.2 overs and scoring 283 runs. Devon Conway scored 151(120)* and young Rachin Ravindra scored 123(96)*. These two batsmen made a match-winning partnership of 273* (211) runs for the second wicket. The only wicket from England went to Sam Curran.
