World Cup 2023: Substitute fielder for Sri Lanka showed amazing fitness, took an amazing catch while jumping in the air, watch video

 

In the 8th match of the ICC World Cup 2023, Dushan Hemantha, the substitute of centurion Abdullah Shafique, took a brilliant catch against Sri Lanka. Shafiq himself could not believe that Hemantha took a brilliant catch while diving on the ball of Mathisha Pathirana. Pakistan is chasing the target of 345 runs in this match. 

Pathirana, who came to bowl the 34th over, bowled the second ball short and outside off. Shafiq made a strong cut on this ball to get a four. However, substitute Dushan Hemantha, standing at backward point, ended Shafiq's innings by taking a brilliant catch while diving forward. Shafiq played a century inning of 113 runs in 103 balls with the help of 10 fours and 3 sixes. This is his first ODI century. He made an excellent partnership of 176 (156) runs with Mohammad Rizwan. 

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 344 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. In-form batsman Kusal Mendis scored the most runs for the team. He scored a century of 122 runs in 77 balls with the help of 14 hits and 6 sixes. Apart from him, Sadira Samarawickrama faced 89 balls and played a century inning of 108 runs with the help of 11 fours and 2 sixes. 

Pathum Nissanka played a half-century innings of 51(61) runs. In this innings he hit 7 fours and one six. Hasan Ali took maximum 4 wickets for Pakistan. Haris Rauf took 2 wickets. Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz and Shaheen Afridi took one wicket each.
