World Cup 2023 warm-up match between Australia and Netherlands cancelled, Starc left an impression

 


The 5th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Warm-up Match 2023 was canceled due to rain. It was raining continuously at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram since this morning, due to which the match had to be reduced to 23 overs each. In this match, Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. 

Batting first, Australia scored 166 runs losing 7 wickets in 23 overs. Steve Smith scored the most runs for Australia. He played a half-century inning of 55(42) runs. In this innings he hit 4 fours and 3 sixes. Cameron Green contributed 34 runs in 26 balls with the help of 4 fours and one six. Alex Carey scored 28 runs in 25 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Roelof van der Merwe, Bas de Leede and Logan van Beek took the maximum 2-2 wickets for Netherlands. One wicket was added to Shariz Ahmed's bag. 

Chasing the target, the Netherlands team's score was 84 runs after losing 6 wickets in 14.2 overs when it rained and the match had to be cancelled. When the match was stopped, Colin Ackerman was playing the best for Netherlands after scoring 31 runs in 37 balls with the help of 3 fours. He was the top scorer of the team. Apart from him, Logan Van Beek was playing after scoring 9(9) runs. Mitchell Starc took maximum 3 wickets for Australia. Apart from them, Mitchell, Sean Abbott and Marnus Labuschagne got one wicket each.
