41 lives stuck at a distance of 10 meters, auger machine failed; Now work is being done on these two plans

14 days have passed since the tunnel accident in Silkyara, Uttarkashi.
How to fire 41 workers quickly? Everyone's hopes are pinned on this. All the agencies engaged in rescue work are making every possible effort to rescue the workers. For the last two-three days it seemed that the auger machine was succeeding in drilling close to the workers. At the same time, on Saturday, the blade of the auger machine got broken due to an iron rod coming in front of it. With this, any hope of evacuating the workers from the auger machine was also lost. The rescue operation has slowed down once again.

Meanwhile, the agencies involved in the rescue operation have started preparing for another plan. The first plan is to conduct the rescue operation in a vertical manner in the tunnel. Top officials have also approved this. Also, the second plan is that after drilling with the auger machine, about 10 meters of drill is left. It should be drilled manually. Experts and the government have reached a consensus on this.

Drilling work will start vertically from Sunday

The machine is being taken to the top of the mountain to drill vertically. Since 9 am on Saturday, the machine has been able to go up only 600 meters. Whereas this machine has to travel a distance of 1100 meters to reach the platform of the machine built on the mountain. This will still take time. After that this machine will start its work from Sunday. To reach inside the tunnel vertically, approximately 81 to 86 meters will have to be drilled. After that the workers can be reached.

Drilling work can also be done manually

After the blade of the auger machine breaks, that machine is no longer useful. The blade of this machine is being taken out by cutting it with a cutter. After that, the remaining area of approximately 10 meters can be reached inside the tunnel by drilling it manually with the help of laborers. Where workers are stranded. However, drilling manually is expected to take a long time.

3 laborers trapped in tunnel fall ill

The relatives of the workers trapped inside the Silkyara Tunnel said that three people are ill. Those who complain of vomiting and dizziness. The family of a laborer says that his brother is not eating or drinking anything inside. His heart is very nervous. However, officials say that medicines have been sent inside the tunnel as per requirement. All the workers are healthy.
