Chhath Parv: The great festival Chhath has started. Kharna takes place on the second day of Chhath festival. Women observing fast on the day of Kharna eat sweet food only once in the evening. On the day of Kharna, mainly Prasad of rice and jaggery kheer is made, which is made by burning mango wood in an earthen stove. According to religious beliefs, Mother Sita also observed the fast of Chhath. It is believed that Mother Sita performed her first Chhath Puja on the banks of river Ganga in Munger, Bihar. When Mother Sita went to exile with Lord Rama, she observed the fast of Chhath during that time. After this, Chhath festival started.
