ICC announced, Richard Illingworth and Richard Cattleborough will be on-field umpires in the World Cup 2023 Final.

 

India vs Australia World Cup Final: England's Richard Illingworth and Richard Kettleborough will be the on-field umpires for the World Cup 2023 final between hosts India and five-time champions Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. At the same time, the responsibility of third umpiring has been handed over to Joel Wilson of West Indies. 

Illingworth and Kettleborough, who were promoted to the ICC International List on the same day in November 2009. Both served as on-field umpires during this week's semi-finals.

This will be the second time Kettleboro will be the on-field umpire for a showpiece occasion. The 50-year-old had previously played in this role alongside Kumar Dharmasena in the 2015 Men's ODI World Cup final, in which Australia defeated New Zealand at the MCG to win their fifth title.

Hosts India have won all 10 matches so far in the tournament and are aiming to clinch their third ODI World Cup title and second on home soil after the 2011 win. With this victory, Rohit and company would like to end their 10-year drought of not winning the World Cup.
