13 fours, 4 sixes, Dinesh Karthik created havoc, rained fours and sixes in the stormy innings.

 

India's wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik created a stir with his stormy batting in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 match played at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, Mumbai on Friday (1 December). For Tamil Nadu, who were chasing the target in the match against Punjab, Karthik played an inning of 93 runs with the help of 13 fours and 4 sixes in 82 balls. In his innings he scored 76 runs only through fours and sixes. 

While chasing the target, Tamil Nadu had a very bad start and the team could not recover from it till the end. Apart from Karthik, no other batsman could do anything special, 7 players of the team did not reach double figures. 

However, captain Dinesh Karthik's storming proved insufficient for Tamil Nadu's victory and they suffered a 76-run defeat at the hands of Punjab. 

After being invited to bat first, Punjab scored 251 runs in 45.2 overs on the basis of half-centuries from Mandeep Singh (68 runs) and Prabhsimran Singh (58 runs). In response, Tamil Nadu team was limited to 175 runs in 34.2 overs. 

While bowling brilliantly for Punjab, Siddharth Kaul took 5 wickets, while Prerit Dutta took 3 wickets and Mayank Markande took 1 wicket.

Let us tell you that Karthik has been out of Team India for the last one year. He played his last match during the T20 World Cup held in Australia last year.
