1st T20I: With the help of half-centuries from Sciver-Brunt and Daniel Wyatt, England Women defeated Indian Women by 38 runs.

 


England Women defeated Indian Women by 38 runs in the first match of the 3-match T20 International series with the help of half-centuries from Nat Sciver-Brunt and Danielle Wyatt. For Indian Women, Shafali Verma played a half-century innings which was not enough for the team to win. The main reason for Indian Women's defeat is their poor fielding. 

England Women, batting first, scored 197 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Nat Sciver-Brunt scored the most runs for England Women. He played a half-century inning of 77(53) runs. In this innings he hit 13 fours. Apart from him, Daniel Wyatt played a half-century inning of 75 (48) runs. In this innings he hit 8 fours and 2 sixes. Both of them made a century partnership of 138 (87) runs for the third wicket. Renuka Singh took maximum 3 wickets for India. Debutant Shreyanka Patil managed to take 2 wickets and Saika Ishaq managed to take one wicket. 

Chasing the target, Indian Women's team could score only 159 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shafali Verma scored the maximum runs for Indian Women. He played a half-century inning of 52 runs with the help of 9 fours in 42 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 26 runs in 21 balls with the help of 3 fours and one six. Richa Ghosh scored 21 runs in 16 balls with the help of one four and one six. Sophie Ecclestone took the maximum 3 wickets for England Women. Sarah Glenn, Freya Kemp and Nat Sciver-Brunt got one wicket each.
