Australia women's cricket team had to face defeat by 8 wickets in the only test match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. For the first time in the last 10 years, Australia has lost a test match. This was Australia's first Test match under the captaincy of Alyssa Healy. 

After the match, Australian captaincy Healy was won over by sportsmanship. Healy brought his camera after the match and clicked photos of the Indian players celebrating. Which is being praised a lot on social media.

India achieved the target of 75 runs to win at the loss of 2 wickets in 18.4 overs. Smriti Mandhana played an unbeaten inning of 38 runs in 61 balls with the help of 6 fours. India lost two wickets in the form of Shefali Verma (4) and Risha Ghosh (13).

Australia team came out ahead of 233 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in its second innings on the fourth day. Indian bowlers performed brilliantly on the fourth day, the last 5 wickets fell for just 28 runs and Australia was all out for 261 runs in the second innings. Tahlia McGrath scored 73 runs in 177 balls, scoring her second consecutive half-century in the match. Ellyse Perry contributed 45 runs and Beth Mooney contributed 33 runs, captain Alyssa Healy contributed 32 runs.

Sneh Rana bowled brilliantly for India in the second innings and took 4 wickets. Rajeshwari Gaikwad and Harmanpreet Kaur took 2 wickets each, Pooja Vastrakar took 1 wicket.
